Into My Classroom

Fourth Year Biology Teacher Sharing My Musings With The World

Beginning the Lesson Plan Process

leave a comment »

So I’ve started creating my first two weeks worth of lesson plans for my biology class.  During the first week, I plan on focusing on teaching classroom procedures (I’ve been reading Harry Wong this summer) while incorporating lessons on the nature of science.  I’m thinking about having the same lessons during the first week for my regular bio and AP classes.  During the second week, I will begin to individualize the classes, focusing on basic chemistry principles in the biology classes.

After creating the lesson plans for biology for the first two weeks, I will begin unwrapping the standards for AP Bio.  My principal called last week and asked if I would teach both AP biology and AP environmental science.  It’s going to be very difficult, but I feel at this point in my life I need to put some extra energy into my work to help get my mind off of things.

*I just realized that I never blogged about the unwrapping process.  I have to do that this week!
